Steve (steve@championsignsllc.net)

Steve is the founder of Champion Signs and has been in the sign business for nearly 30 years. He served his apprenticeship at Artistic Signs in Portland, Oregon where he learned the art of “old school” sign making. “Back when I started we did everything by hand, layouts, patterns, hand cut the masking for sandblasted signs, laid gold leaf, hand painted illustrations and hand lettered every sign whether it was a vehicle, banner, plywood sign or the wall of a building. I feel fortunate to have learned the old school way. It has really taught me how important proper letter construction layout and design is, because if you had to start all over you had to do it by hand and that has a way of driving the point home.”
Steve has also been very active in the local community over the years. He has been a member of the Sunset Park association, served on the City of Banks planning commission, is a past president of the Banks Chamber of Commerce and was responsible for bringing Rural Development Initiatives to Banks to help with community and economic development. In addition he was a volunteer with the Banks Fire District for 21 years, 11 as a firefighter/EMT and 10 as an elected member of the Board of Directors. During his time with the Banks Fire District he was one of the founders of a sister station program with Möggingen, Germany.
Steve and his wife Pam have four adult children and one granddaughter. Away from the sign business he enjoys traveling, fine art, and fishing.

Stephie "Dude" (stephanie@championsignsllc.net)

Stephanie is the Managing Partner, and has been working at Champion Signs for over 10 years. In 2005, she graduated from Pacific Northwest College of Art with a Bachelors degree of Fine Arts in Painting. “I’ve always been drawn to the art world. I grew up around one shot paints & maul sticks. Being able to see sign shops from behind the scenes was literally the coolest thing to me. I am very fortunate to have a dad that’s an old school sign painter, who has taught me skills that are only gained from real life experience. I enjoy combining elements that I’ve learned from PNCA with the old school sign painters way. I’m able to create modern designs with an old school flare which is something very unique.”
In her spare time, Steph enjoys photography, exploring ideas for drawings and turning those drawing into vibrant acrylic paintings. You can also catch her out by the water with her fishing pole and a big smile.
